How much to tip movers
When it comes to moving, one thing that many people often wonder about is tipping. For example, they may ask questions such as “should you tip movers?” or “what is the average tip for movers?” If it’s been some time since your last move, you might feel unsure as to whether or not you should tip. Here at Prime Texas Movers, we’ve got some information we think will help you better navigate this issue.
Should you Tip Movers?
Are you required to tip your moving crew? This is probably the biggest questions people have when it comes to tipping. The answer of course is that there is actually no requirement to tip a mover. The cost of your move is already spelled out in your estimate, including employee salaries.
While it isn’t mandatory, your movers will nonetheless appreciate a tip for good service. So if you feel that one of our moving specialists has gone above and beyond the call of duty, feel free to leave that person a tip.
How Much Should I Tip Movers?
The next thing you are probably wondering is “how much do you tip movers?” Again, you are never required to tip, so any amount you give is entirely up to you. However, you may be wondering what is considered a “standard” tip for this industry, in which case we would like to offer some guidelines:
- Our movers receive an average of between 10% and 15% of the final bill.
- For a typical household move, the normal tip usually ranges between $20 and $30 per person.
- For very large moves, the average tip can be anywhere from $30 to $40 per person.
How Should I go About Tipping my Mover?
Now that you know about how much to tip movers, the next thing you are probably wondering is how to go about doing so. Should you leave cash or have the tip amount added to your final bill? What about paying with a credit or debit card?
When leaving a gratuity for movers, use the method that is most convenient for you. Our team members appreciate getting cash from our clients. However, if paying in cash is not possible, you can always add the amount to your final bill and we will see that our workers receive it. Unfortunately, it is not possible to leave a tip directly with your credit or debit card.
Who Will Receive the Tip?
When paying a tip, you have several options. First, you can give your gratuity to the crew leader and ask that it be split evenly among the workers. We normally have crews of two to three people. You may also tip only one of our employees.
We understand that tipping is something you do because you want to and not because you have to. Accordingly, we want you handle it in the way you feel most comfortable doing.
We also know it isn’t always possible to leave a tip. If you loved our service anyway, please give us a positive online review. Your strong recommendation is a reward in itself.
Here at Prime Texas Movers, we hope the above information has made you feel more comfortable with the issue of tipping. Remember that a gratuity is completely optional, but our associates will provide you with the same exceptional service regardless of whether or not you tip.
